The TOEIC exam focuses on English in the workplace and is very useful for learners who wish to work for an international corporation in any country. It is now used in more than 150 countries to assess candidates for promotion, pay increase and as a standardised reference for placement in English development courses.
There are two TOEIC exams to choose from: Listening and Reading or Speaking and Writing. The Listening and Reading test lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours and the Speaking and Writing test lasts 80 minutes. Both contain multiple-choice questions on a variety of topics.
How our TOEIC preparation course works
This course is based on the market-leading “Target Score Second Edition” textbook, produced by Cambridge University Press.
These lessons are offered at the same price as all our other classes, although students are responsible for buying their own textbook and accompanying CDs.
To prepare for each class, students will be asked to use the CD to complete a short listening activity as homework, which will be checked during the lesson. As with all our lessons, students receive detailed written feedback after each class.
(Please note that, at your trial lesson, we will not be able to study a unit from the Target Score textbook because students need to have their own copy of the textbook and CD. However, you can enjoy a free conversation or take a unit from any of our other courses, for which the materials are produced in-house at no cost to the student.)
How to order the class materials
Students who wish to study one of our business English courses are requested to purchase a copy of the textbook and class CD. Which are available from Amazon or can be ordered through your local bookstore.
