Food and Drink

Gemma November 20, 2019

The food and drink on offer can tell us so much about the country we’re visiting. It’s also great to try new things. You may even find a new favourite meal that you can cook for your family and friends when you go home!

Whether you’re a ‘foodie’ or not, you’ll have to eat when you’re on holiday and getting the most out of the local food is what this lesson is all about!

We’ll look at reserving a table and ordering food in a restaurant. Sometimes this can be a little daunting, but this part of the lesson will show you how to ask your server for help and advice. We’ll also look at some traditional dishes that you might encounter if you’re visiting the UK.

On holiday we do lots of exploring and it’s really important to keep our energy levels up. Coffee can help! Coffee shops have become really popular over the past decade and you can find them everywhere. This part of the lesson will teach you about coffee shop culture and the vocabulary you need to order your perfect caffeinated drink.

Food markets are vibrant, colourful and fun places to wander around. They are also a wonderful way to talk to locals, discover local food and try things you haven’t tasted before. Here, we’ll look at what you can find at a food market, what to ask for and how to ask for help when you have trouble deciding which food to try.

Let’s go!
